Howard HAVENS and Mary Catherine STRICKLAND

My maternal grandmother was Maud Josephine HAVENS, daughter of Howard and Mary Kathryn (STRICKLAND) HAVENS. Her death certificate has her parents names. According to the certificate, she was born 8 October 1879, at Coffeyville, Kansas.
Maud is not shown in her parent's household on the 1880 census, causing us to question the actual year of her birth. The 1890 census is lost. She was married to Grafton Eaton on 20 Septemer 1899 at Fanshawe, Central District, Indian Territory. Her age is shown as 18 years, which would indicate a birth year of 1880.
Maud's father, Howard Havens, along with his brother, Hiram, homesteaded in Washington County, Arkansas. He reportedly died enroute from Arkansas to Oklahoma and is said to have been buried in the Old McAlester Cemetery, Pittsburgh County, Oklahoma. No record can be found.
In the photo at left are (standing) Carl (Havens) HAGUE, sister of Maud; (seated) Maud's mother, Mary Kathryn (STRICKLAND) HAVENS; and the two children are the son and daughter of Carl Havens Hague.
