James McMackin, son of
Thomas McMACKIN and Sarah JOHNSTON
or JOHNSON, was born sometime before 1780. He
married Mary ROBERTS on January 4, 1794 in
Greene County, TN. She was born 1770/1780 and was the daughter
of James Roberts Sr. and Susanna VanEman.
James McMACKIN died between October 1820 and
January 1821 in Greene County. His will was signed October 30,
1820, and was filed at the January 1821 court session. It refers
to his wife, Mary McMACKIN, his brother,
Thomas McMACKIN, and to his children Nancy,
William, Peggy, , Thomas, James R., and John. The will refers to
land James McMackin owned which was located in Butler County,
Kentucky, "on the waters of Green River conveyed from
William McMACKIN to James McMACKIN, containing two hundred
acres. It also mentioned land on which he lived, "part of a
tract that I bought of Thos. KENNEDY and gives a description of
the land. Witnesses to the signing of James McMackin's will were
Isaac HOPE, Thomas HAWS, and
Conrad HAWS. Information about the McMackin
